Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Pakistan is in a state of emergency right now. Extreme flooding has caused damage in many parts of the country. Hundreds of people died, and millions of people had to move. Not only has Pakistan’s own country come together to help flood victims, but so has the rest of the world.

Mufti Menk and Angelina Jolie are two well-known people from outside Pakistan who have recently been to the areas hit by floods. Sharmila Faruqui, a politician in Pakistan, went on Instagram to praise Jolie for her work as a humanitarian and for helping the people of Pakistan.

Faruqui wrote, “Here is Angelina Jolie visiting our most flood-damaged district, Dadu, where she spreads love and hope and asks the rest of the world for help.” He also criticized local artists for doing the opposite. She was especially upset about the Hum Awards and the fact that many of our famous people were in Toronto getting ready for the show.

Faruqui shared a collage of pictures that showed the difference between Jolie helping people on the ground and local artists practicing in Canada.

She said, “On the other hand, our Pakistani shining stars are all in Toronto for the Hum TV Pakistan awards, having fun and getting ready for some scintillating performances. Except for Hadiqa Kiani, none of them bothered to go to a flood-affected area or show solidarity in cash or kind.

“It would have been a great help if they had all reached out to their fellow countrymen who had lost their homes, lives, and ways of making a living because of the terrible floods,” Faruqui said, stressing how important it is to read the room.

“There is a time for everything, to celebrate and to mourn. There is a humanitarian crisis in our country, and now is the time to stand by them, with them, to hold, support, and love them.”
