Web Desk (LTN NEWS): In the upcoming series between Pakistan and the Netherlands, the team captain, Babar Azam, is expected to break a record.
The 27-year-old is first on the list of ODI players, and he needs one more century to become the only Pakistan captain to score 10 centuries in international cricket.
The right-handed batter is currently on tour with the ODI team in the Netherlands, where they will play the first-ever bilateral series starting on Tuesday, August 16.
Pakistan, which is ranked fourth among international cricket teams, will play the hosts again on August 18 and 21.
In ODIs, Babar Azam has scored 4442 runs, and in T20s, he has scored 2686 runs.
As part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, the three-game series will be played.
The touring team had their first practice at the Schiedam cricket ground, but because it started to rain, they had to have their second practice indoors in Rotterdam.
“It’s great to be in the Netherlands for the first time.”The weather and the people here are great, and we are treated very well,” Babar Azam said about how the team was getting ready for the series.
He also said that he is impressed by how much the Dutch team cares about the game. Azam said that he hopes the series that starts tomorrow will do a lot to get people interested in the game in the area.
Azam talked about Shaheen Shah Afridi’s absence from the team. He said that the team won’t get too comfortable without him and that the players are ready to show what they can do.
“In Shaheen Shah Afridi’s absence, this is a chance for young players to show off their skills,” he said. He also said that the team is looking forward to a good battle between bat and ball and that he hopes fans will come to watch the series.
Babar Azam is the Pakistani batsman with the most runs in both T20 Internationals and ODIs. He has been doing well in both formats and has been leading his team as captain for a long time.
Sitara-i-Imtiaz
Azam was recently given a Sitara-i-Imtiaz by President Dr. Arif Alvi on the country’s 75th anniversary for his consistent play on the Pakistan cricket team and his ability to lead as captain. On March 23, which is Pakistan Day, he will be given an award.
