Web Desk (LTN NEWS): All-rounder Shadab Khan apologized to fans for his team’s poor performance and said he was to blame for losing the Asia Cup final to Sri Lanka.

Sunday, Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 23 runs to win the Asia Cup final for the sixth time. Bhanuka Rajapaksa, a batsman for Sri Lanka, hit the Pakistani bowlers out of the park, which helped his team win.

Even though Sri Lanka lost wickets early on, they were still able to score 170 runs. However, the tournament favorite, Pakistan, could only score 147 runs while trying to catch up. Pakistan only had three players score in the double digits, and the rest, including Captain Babar, did not do well.

Fans were very angry with the whole team for how poorly they played, but all-rounder Shadab Khan got a lot of flak for dropping two catches.

The fans’ harsh criticism upset the all-rounder, so he took to Twitter to apologize to the fans and say that he was to blame for the loss in the final.

“Catches win matches. Sorry, I take responsibility for this loss. I let my team down. Positives for the team, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Nawaz, and the entire bowling attack were great. Rizwan fought hard. The entire team tried their best. Congratulations to Sri Lanka,” Shadab wrote on Twitter.

All-rounder was also very impressed with Mohammad Rizwan’s great play throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, former pacer, Shoaib Akhtar, Aka Rawalpindi Express, defended Shadab for his fielding.

“He is our best fielder. Shadab khan just having a bad day,” Tweeted Shoaib.
