Web Desk(LTN News): Hira Mani and her husband Mani were notable absences at the annual HUM Awards, which saw Pakistani celebs make headlines for their red carpet ensembles. In an effort to raise money for the flood victims in Pakistan, the actors have been touring the US in conjunction with the Indus Hospital.
On September 6, Hira shared a clip of herself on Instagram where she highlighted that Pakistan is going through the “worst humanitarian crisis that it has seen in the past decade” and how everyone has the responsibility to help during this trial of “epic proportions”. “Right now we have to embrace the flood affectees the same way all us Pakistanis came together at the time of the earthquake and we went above and beyond in helping each other out,” she said.
The Ibn-e-Hawwa actor said to Images that after her quest to raise money in the US, they had raised more than $2 million from eight places and still had eight more to visit as part of their campaign. The funds are being raised to establish medical aid camps.
While thanking God for the opportunity she and her husband Mani got, the actor said, “This is the reward that I got from the people sitting in front of me, the overseas Pakistanis, and I will take this reward for the people of Pakistan who are currently going through a difficult time.”
Actress Nadia Afgan published a post showing her collection from each place to show how much she was appreciated for her efforts. The Suno Chanda actress said that she is proud of Hira and claimed that while rumors about her gaffes and errors are frequently shared, very few people are aware of how straightforward and kind of a person she is. Afghan praised her for completing the difficult task while praying for her.
The hospital’s official YouTube account uploaded the video on August 26 announcing the celebs’ fundraising appearances in 21 US cities. Detroit, San Antonio, Minneapolis, Atlanta, St. Louis, North Carolina, Austin, and Chicago have all donated money to them. Now, they’re going to Columbus on Sunday and Dallas on Saturday. They will then proceed to New Jersey, Santa Clarita, Portland, Tampa, Orlando, and Boston as their final destination.
