Mohammed bin Salman elects as PM of Saudi Arabia

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): On Tuesday, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud made Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the new Prime Minister of the Kingdom.

Saudi Press Agency said that the appointment was made by a royal decree, which was an exception to Article (56) of the Basic Law of Governance and the relevant parts of the Law of the Cabinet.

The Saudi King made three orders about who would be the prime minister, who would be in charge of the cabinet, and how the cabinet would be changed.

A decree says that the King will be in charge of the weekly meeting of the cabinet, which he attends.

The King also named Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as the Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as the Minister of Sport, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as the Minister of Interior, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as the Minister of Defense, and Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah bin Faisal

He also named Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan Al Saud as Minister of Culture, Dr. Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani as Minister of Justice, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan bin Mohammed Al-Rabiah as Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi as Minister of Commerce and Acting Minister of Media, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fad
