Web Desk (LTNNEWS): Sheila Jackson and Tom Swazi, two US lawmakers, will visit Pakistan for two days starting on Sunday. During their time in the country, the US lawmakers will go to Sindh to see areas that have been damaged by floods.
Sheila Jackson and Tom Swazi, both members of the US Congress, left for flood-hit Pakistan on Saturday to show support for the people and the government.
Floods caused by monsoon rains that were heavier than usual are still going on. So far, they have killed more than 1,200 people and flooded one-third of the country.
US Congresswoman Sheila Jackson says, “We will do everything we can to help the flood victims.”
At the same time, the Commander of US Central Command, General Michael Erik Kurilla, was saddened by the deaths and damage caused by the floods.
General Bajwa thanked the US commander for saying that the US would help the people of Pakistan who had been hurt by floods.
