Dollar increases in the open market

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): There was a mixed trend in the value of the US dollar in the country today, the dollar was cheap in the interbank market while it became expensive in the open market.

At the close of interbank trading, the dollar fell by 8 paise to Rs 213.90.

In the open market, an increase in the price of the dollar was recorded by 3 rupees, after which one US dollar became 213 rupees.

Since July 29, the rupee had been steadily getting stronger, but that changed on Wednesday when it fell by 98 paise against the dollar.

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data showed that the rupee ended the day at 214.88 per dollar, down 0.46 percent.

After getting beat up against the dollar for two weeks, the rupee hit its lowest point against the dollar on July 28, when it closed at Rs239.94. But this trend had changed by Aug. 16, when the local currency had gone up by Rs26.04, or 10.8%. (yesterday).

The rupee went up the most on August 3, when it went up by a record Rs9.59.
