Web Desk (LTN NEWS): On Sunday in Karachi, the Dice Foundation, universities, and the private sector came together to launch the first electric car made in Pakistan. Late in 2024, people will be able to book the “Made in Pakistan” NUR-E 75.
The event was held at a nearby hotel on the country’s Independence Day. Late in 2024, anyone will be able to sign up for the NUR-E 75 car. It has advanced features and a battery pack that was made at the NED University of Engineering and Technology. The car may also be sold outside of the country.
The Sir Syed University of Engineering is making chargers for these vehicles. Work is also going on to make chargers that work faster and cut down on the time it takes to charge.
All of the parts of the car were made in Pakistan, and the National College of Arts came up with the design (NCA).
After being charged for eight hours through a 220V connection, the car will be able to go 210 km at 120 km/h.
Chairman of the Dice Foundation Dr. Khurshid Qureshi said that the “Made in Pakistan” car was a turning point for the country’s economy. He said that electric cars are making a big change in the auto industry around the world and that Pakistan has also taken the first step in this direction. He also said that this project would solve all of the country’s economic problems.
Dr. Qureshi said that Series A, B, and C rounds of funding will be used to get money for commercial production. He said that the brand name for the car will be JAXERI.
He said that the first prototype is a five-seater hatchback, but that the next step will be to make a sedan, and that later SUVs will also be made.
He also said that making a lot of cars will save the environment and save money that would have been spent on importing fuel. He also said that Pakistan will have the same technology for electric cars as developed countries. Having this technology will make it easier to keep the economy in Pakistan stable.
At the launch event, there were a lot of well-known people from the engineering, auto, and business worlds. They praised the teams and Dr. Qureshi for coming up with the idea for the car.
