In the most recent rankings of T20I batters by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam stayed at the top, while Indian stars made huge leaps.
India’s Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant were two of the players who moved up the most in the latest rankings, which came out on Wednesday. The race for the top spot is heating up before the ICC T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia in the fall.
In the T20I series that just ended, India beat West Indies 4-1, and both Iyer and Pant were important to the win.
Iyer moved up six spots to 19th in the overall batter rankings after hitting an impressive half-ton in the last match of the series in Florida. Pant, who scored 115 runs during the series, moved up seven spots to 59th after scoring 44 runs quickly in the fourth match.
Babar is currently in first place with 818 rating points, but Suryakumar Yadav of India is not far behind with 805 rating points. Last week, he had 816 points, which was just two less than Babar.
