Web Desk (LTN NEWS): The funeral prayer of Olympian Manzoor Jr. was performed in the Singapura area of Lahore. PHF President Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, Secretary Hasnain Haider, former secretary Asif Bajwa, former Olympians Akhtar Rasool, Khawaja Junaid, Tahir Zaman, Khalid Bashir, and PFU were present in the funeral prayers. A large number of citizens including JK Secretary General Arshad Ansari participated.
Former Olympians paid tribute to Manzoor Jr. and said that his services to hockey will always be remembered.
Hockey legend Olympian Manzoor Hussain Jr. was undergoing treatment at a local hospital in Lahore due to a heart attack where he passed away yesterday.
Olympian Manzoor Hussain Jr. was the capital of Pakistan hockey, representing the national team and winning the goal medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Manzoor Jr. was also a part of the winning national hockey team of 1978 and 1982. He is still recognized by the hockey world as the hero of the 1982 World Cup Final where he dodged 6 German defenders to score a goal.
