PKR again fall by Rs2 against dollar

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): The rupee fell by 0.89 percent to Rs225.42 per dollar at the end of the day.

The previous session also saw the dollar gain against the rupee by Rs2.

FAP Chairman Malik Bostan said that the dollar was getting stronger around the world. He said that the dollar had been getting stronger against 40 currencies for weeks and that this was also happening in Pakistan’s currency market.

Bostan said that the rupee was Rs8 more expensive on the open market and asked the government to do something about this.

“The government should use its diplomatic connections to stop the UAE government from making travelers from Pakistan carry 5,000 dirhams in cash,” he said.

He went on to say that the pressure on the rupee would be eased and its value would be more stable if the $4 billion promised by friendly countries came to Pakistan right away.
