Web Desk (LTN NEWS): According to the World News Agency, social media activist Noora bint Saeed Al-Qahani in Saudi Arabia was allegedly detained on a post on July 4, 2021, but neither was told about the trial against her and the nature of the charge was not defined.

The spokesperson of the Saudi Social Media Activist Organization says that Noora bint Saeed was accused of harming public peace, disrupting social harmony, and violating Saudi social traditions through social media.

This is the second incident of its kind in Saudi Arabia this month in which a woman has been sentenced to prison for her activities on social media. Earlier, Ph.D. student Salma Al Shahab was sentenced to 34 years in prison.

The convictions damaged the growing popularity of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who has allowed women in the country to hold jobs and drive cars, as well as travel alone.
