Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Dollar kept getting stronger against the rupee on Monday when the interbank market showed that the rupee had dropped by Rs1.64.
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) showed that at the end of the day, the local currency was worth Rs229.82 per dollar. This is equal to a 0.71 percent drop in value.
Since Sep 2, the rupee has lost ground against the dollar. It went down by Rs9.2 in the last week, and now it is worth Rs228.18.
The value of the rupee has dropped by 26.37 percent in the last 52 weeks, according to the financial data and analytics website Mettis Global. On July 28, it hit a record low of 239.94.
