Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, is being charged with terrorism because of his controversial comments about a female judge. Today, he will go to an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad to get a pre-arrest bail.
The Dawn.com reporter in the capital said that police and Frontier Corps members have been sent to the Federal Judicial Complex, where the hearing will take place, to make sure it is safe. The roads around the complex have also been closed.
The PTI, on the other hand, told its supporters to “go out on the streets and then go to Islamabad the next day” if Imran is arrested. “The party gave clear instructions!”
A hashtag in Urdu that says “Imran Khan is our red line” was also added.
Imran was arrested on Sunday under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, which punishes terrorist acts. The day before, he “threatened” a female judge and senior police officers at a public rally in Islamabad.
At the rally, he had told the judges that if they were “unfair” to his party, they should get ready for the consequences.
The former prime minister also told additional district and sessions, judge Zeba Chaudhry, that she would also face bad consequences because she gave his aide Shahbaz Gill a two-day physical remand at the request of the capital police in a sedition case.
Also, the head of the PTI had said that he would file charges against the head of police in Islamabad and his deputy, saying, “We won’t spare you.”
On Monday, the Islamabad High Court gave him bail for three days and told him to go to the sessions court to ask for bail before the three days were up.
