Web Desk (LTN NEWS): In a press release from the Canadian High Commission in Islamabad on Wednesday, PM Trudeau also said that Canada will give an extra $25 million to help Pakistan recover from flooding and support development projects in the country. This is on top of the $5 million that the Liberals said they would give last month.
In response to the flooding in Pakistan, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that the Canadian government will match donations to the “Humanitarian Coalition.” Government will match up to $3 million in donations from individuals until September 28, 2022.
The money, which was donated by Canadians, will help the Humanitarian Coalition and its members provide life-saving services like emergency food and nutrition assistance, emergency cash and vouchers, and necessary water, sanitation, and health services.
Pakistan has had the worst flooding in recent history, and Canada will continue to help the people of Pakistan by supporting the humanitarian response to the crisis and longer-term development needs.

During his trip to Pakistan, Harjit S. Sajjan, Canada’s Minister of International Development and Minister in charge of the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada, said, “Canadians believe in helping others when they are in trouble.”
This is why the Canadian government is joining Canadians in helping Canada’s partners on the ground in Pakistan, who are giving urgent, life-saving aid in response to this devastating flood.
We can’t forget about the people of Pakistan, especially women and girls, who have been hurt more than men and boys. We keep looking for more ways to help those who have been hurt by this tragedy.
He also saw for himself how people were helping each other, which gave him a better idea of what the people of Pakistan are going through.
Iqra Khalid, Member of Parliament for Mississauga—Erin Mills, Salma Zahid, Member of Parliament for Scarborough Centre, and Shafqat Ali, Member of Parliament for Brampton Centre, went with the minister on his trip.
