Web Desk (LTN NEWS): On Thursday, Islamabad High Court (IHC) released PTI leader Shahbaz Gill on bail in a sedition case that was filed against him last month for allegedly inciting mutiny in the military.
On August 9, the police in Islamabad arrested Shahbaz Gill at Banigala Chowk on charges of sedition and inciting the public against state institutions.

On September 2, PTI leader Shahbaz Gill went to the IHC to ask for his interim bail in the case. The local court in the federal capital had denied bail request, saying that “despite being a responsible person, Shahbaz Gill made a sensational statement” that was enough to upset the harmony and discipline of the Pakistan Army.

During today’s court hearings, Shahbaz Gill’s lawyer said that the case against his client was filed out of “malice” and “political revenge.”
“A speech is at the center of the whole case. The case has been looked into enough,” the lawyer said.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah then asked the lawyer if he could explain why his client had said something that brought the military into politics.
“Gill did not make fun of the military,” his lawyer said.
He also said that some parts of his client’s speech were picked out on purpose.
“The conversation shows us how much hate is spread by political parties,” said the chief justice.
