Web Desk (LTN NEWS): England’s last game in Pakistan was in 2005, and they were supposed to go there again last year, but they canceled at the last minute after New Zealand also canceled a tour because of safety concerns.
The move made the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) very angry. They said it was “disrespectful.”
After an attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in 2009, Pakistan was forced to play international matches in neutral places like the United Arab Emirates, where they played England in 2012 and 2015.
International cricket has slowly come back to Pakistan over the past five years, and earlier this year, Australia went there for the first time in nearly 25 years.
PCB said that the Australia series “showed our event planning and operational skills” and that they are confident that the England games will also go off without a hitch.

On game days, the roads between the England team hotel and Karachi’s National stadium will be blocked off and guarded by armed people. Their trip will be watched by a helicopter, and shops and offices near the stadium will be told to close.
When England went to Pakistan the last time, the government was fighting with militants. Since then, security has gotten a lot better, but there have been more attacks since the Taliban took control of neighboring Afghanistan.
Pakistan is also dealing with terrible flooding, which has submerged nearly a third of the country and affected at least 33 million people.
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said last month that the team was “desperate” to play in Pakistan, even though there was a disaster there.
Rob Key, who is in charge of men’s cricket, said, “I hope that us going out there and playing will be a good thing for the people of that country during what has been a pretty scary time for them.”
The 19-person England team, led by Jos Buttler, will play seven T20 games against Pakistan from September 20 to October 2 in Karachi and Lahore. Both teams are getting ready for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia next month.
In December, England will come back and play three five-day Test matches.
