Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Monday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) put off making a decision in the Toshakhana case against former PM Imran Khan.

After hearing the arguments, a five-person ECP panel led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja put off making a decision. A date for the decision has not yet been set.

Ali Zafar, Imran Khan’s lawyer, said at the start of today’s hearing that his client had sold at least four gifts he had received in 2018-19.

The gifts were sold for Rs58 million, and the receipts were included in my client’s tax returns,” the lawyer told the ECP.

He said in a written response to the election body that they had given details about the gifts until 2021

“The ECP looks into things if it has doubts about something, but in this case, the election body did not raise any objections,” the PTI lawyer said.

The lawyer told the ECP that Imran Khan got gifts worth Rs1.7 million in 2019-20.

A member of the ECP asked where the money came from to buy the gifts from the state treasury.

At this point, the lawyer told them that they would not give them any more information.
