Web Desk (LTN NEWS): In a big political step forward, representatives from the current government and Imran Khan’s PTI met face-to-face to talk about and settle their political differences in a friendly way.
Two days ago, the two sides got together. Two people from each side attended the meeting. Even if they are held in March or April 2023, the PTI wants early elections. In exchange, they would sign the charter of the economy and other reforms to institutions.
If Imran Khan wants early elections, the PDM leadership wants to stay in power until the end of its term. What was talked about at the first meeting between the two sides after months apart is being told to the leaders of each side? The two sides will likely meet again in the coming days.
If these talks keep going, there will be more people from each side at future meetings. In the last few months, the PTI has been trying to reach its political goals through military establishment. However, the military was only willing to help the two sides sit and talk.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the PTI was willing to talk with the government. At a ceremony in Islamabad, the prime minister said he was ready to talk with the PTI about the next general elections to find a way out of the political crisis that is happening right now.
PM as saying, “After criticising us (the ruling PDM leaders) for more than four years, Imran now wants to sit down at the table for dialogue. I’ve put aside my political rivalry for the good of the country and am ready to talk.”
These two groups last met in late May of this year. With the help of neutral people, the leaders of the ruling coalition and the PTI met in Islamabad on the morning of May 25, the same day Imran Khan led the long march to Islamabad. But nothing new was learned from the conversation.
The neutrals had also talked to both sides on May 24 and asked them to sit down and negotiate a solution to their political disagreements, making the political situation worse and the economy even more chaotic.
On May 25, they met in the morning. The coalition government comprised Yousaf Raza Gillani, Ayaz Sadiq, Ahsan Iqbal, Malik Muhammad Khan, Asad Mehmood, and Faisal Sabzwari. The PTI comprised Pervez Khattak, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and Asad Umar. At the meeting, there was also an important person who spoke for neutrals. Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s harsh behaviour was the main reason the talks didn’t go anywhere.
