Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Pakistani batting order fell apart after the Sri Lankan bowlers finished the game with a thrilling show. Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 23 runs on Sunday and win the sixth Asia Cup.
In a predictable game, Sri Lankan Lion’s great bowling was on display as Pakistani wickets fell one after the other.
Pramod Madushan and Wanindu Hasaranga, two fast bowlers from Sri Lanka, took a total of seven wickets between them.
Pakistan had to get 171 runs to win, but they only got 147 runs before Madushan took four wickets and Hasaranga took three wickets in Dubai.
After Pakistan put Sri Lanka into bat, Bhanuka Rajapaksa hit 71 runs without getting out. This helped Sri Lanka go from a dangerous 58-5 to 170-6.
Mohammad Rizwan, the wicket-keeper batter for Pakistan, scored a total of 281 runs over six innings to become the tournament’s top scorer. The best T20I player in the ICC scored 55 runs in today’s game against Sri Lanka.
In the first innings of the final match of the Asia Cup 2022, Sri Lanka scored 171 runs and lost six wickets.
Before, Pakistani bowlers took over the innings of the final match of the Asia Cup 2022, and pacers went after the Sri Lankan batters to get them out.
In the first over, Naseem Shah sent Kusal Mendis back to the pavilion. In the fourth, sixth, and 15th overs, Haris Rauf sent Pathum Nissanka, Danushka Gunathilaka, and Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva back to the pavilion.
In the eighth and ninth over, Dhananjaya de Silva and Dasun Shanaka were sent back to the pavilion by Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan.
Pakistan won the toss against Sri Lanka earlier, and their goal was to win the final match of the Asian tournament at the Dubai International Stadium.

Shoaib Akhar Tweeted:
“Only form compliments class. A whole tournament without performance attracts criticism. Babar needs to bring his focus back. We have 7 T20is vs England to prepare for the World Cup. Make full use of it.”
He also tweets:
“That ends a nightmare tournament for Babar as a batter. Same disaster for Fakhar.”
Dasun Shanaka, the captain of Sri Lanka, said, “We got a lot better as we got closer to the final.” Sri Lanka’s season started with a loss to Afghanistan. I think there was a good reason for it to happen. After that, we had a serious talk with everyone on the team,” he said.
“We dominated the first eight overs, but the partnership between Rajapaksa and Hasaranga was key. As a batting team, we didn’t do as well as we could have, and we couldn’t finish well with the ball and gave up 15-20 extra runs,” said Pakistan captain Babar.
Sri Lanka couldn’t host the tournament at home because of political and economic problems on the island, but they still got to keep the honor of being the hosts.
