Web Desk (LTN NEWS): According to sources, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa will retire in five weeks and will not seek an extension.
According to the sources, the COAS stated that the Pakistan Army would play no role in Pakistani politics.

Earlier, during a luncheon at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington during his US visit, the COAS stated that the military forces have detached themselves from politics and intend to remain so in the future.
General Bajwa also maintained his intention to quit after his term as army head expires in November. “There can be no diplomacy without a robust economy,” the army commander stated, adding that the country cannot fulfil its goals without a strong economy.
