Web Desk (LTN NEWS): After causing widespread damage and deaths in Sindh, Punjab, and other parts of the country, a high level flood of 560,000 cusecs will pass through Kotri Barrage today, according to the person in charge of the Sukkur Barrage control room.
The official said that Sukkur Barrage was in high flood because the reservoir was getting 600,000 cusecs of water from Taunsa Barrage.
He said that in the last 24 hours, 29,000 cusecs of water had been added to the reservoir.
He also said that, because of the expected flood, all the canals that come from the barrage have been closed for a time that hasn’t been set.
Upstream, there was a flow of 559,998 cusecs, and downstream, there was also a flow of 559,998 cusecs, the official said.
At 6 a.m. today, the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) said that the Kotri Barrage had an upstream flow of 513669 cusecs and a downstream flow of 503464 cusecs.
