LTN News (Islamabad): Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has said again that early elections run by a new election commissioner are the only way for the country to get out of its worsening economic and political crises.
In his televised address to the country on Wednesday, the former prime minister said that the Pakistani people “have become a nation.” He also said that it was a miracle that the PTI was able to win despite all the “tactics” used by the ruling party.
“Pakistan was going in the right direction, and that’s when a plot against us was made,” he said.
The head of the PTI said that when he was in charge, the country had the right economic indicators and that he had warned “powerful quarters” about it.

Imran Khan, who was kicked out of power by a vote of no confidence in April, said that the country wouldn’t be in the “economic crisis” it is in now if elections had been held on time.
He also criticized the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for being against electronic voting machines.
He said that the electronic voting machines (EVMs) could have stopped a lot of different kinds of corruption, but they were not used.
The PTI leader said that the only way for Pakistan to get out of its current situation is for the country to have new general elections.

Imran said that Hamza Shehbaz was made the chief minister of the province in a way that was against the law.
He also said, “They think that they are above the law.”

The former prime minister took to his official Twitter account earlier today to thank the country for supporting the Supreme Court’s decision last night. He said that the decision upheld the “Constitution and the law.”
His announcement came after the apex court ruled against Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari’s decision on the election of the Punjab chief minister. This made it possible for Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, who was chosen by the PTI, to take the throne in the political heartland of the country.
After a four-day hearing that had the whole country on edge, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Ijazul Ahsan, and Justice Munib Akhtar, who made up a three-person bench, took over three hours to announce an unusually harsh verdict.
Hamza Shehbaz of the PML-N lost his position as “trustee” chief minister because of the order.
