Web Desk (LTN NEWS): It has been learned that the government could not get the support of legal experts in filing objections to Imran Khan’s announcement of contesting elections from 9 constituencies of the National Assembly in the by-elections.
The Election Commission has released the schedule for the by-election on 25 September 2022 for the 9 seats vacant after the resignations of Tehreek-e-Insaf members.
Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has filed the nomination papers deciding to contest the election himself in all the constituencies.
On the other hand, the government has decided to file objections against this decision of Imran Khan and in this regard, the legal advisors of the Muslim League-N and government allies have completed the work.
Muslim League (N) Lawyers Wing President Fazlur Rahman Niazi, People’s Party Leader and former President of Islamabad High Court Bar Association Haroon Al Rasheed, and former Deputy Attorney General Syed Muhammad Tayyab gave their opinion in this regard. That there is no restriction on contesting elections from more than one constituency by the Election Commission
