Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Friday, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said that there was a “problem” with the data networks between the South and the North and that it was looking into it.
“According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. (PTCL), there is a problem in the data networks between the South and the North that is making it hard to connect to the internet.
“This problem is being looked into.” The PTA is keeping an eye on the situation and will share any new information,” the authority said.
The statement came after people all over the country said they couldn’t get online. Around 11 a.m., #internetdown was one of the top trends on Twitter.
For its part, PTCL said that heavy rains and floods had caused “some technical faults” in its optical fiber network.
“As a result, PTCL customers in the north and center are having trouble getting online.” “Our teams are working hard to get services back up and running as soon as possible,” the statement said.
In May, there were problems with the internet all over the country, and there were rumors that the government had shut it down because Imran Khan, the former prime minister who was fired, had planned protests.
But the PTA denied that it had made such a decision and said that internet service provider Transworld was having a little trouble.
Before this, internet services in Pakistan were slow because one of the two undersea cables run by TransWorld was broken near Karachi in February.
