Web Desk (LTN NEWS): PMD Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre says that this weather system does not pose a threat to any of Pakistan’s coasts right now.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned on Saturday that the depression over the North Arabian Sea has moved west-southwest over the last 12 hours and is now about 450 km southwest of Karachi.

The Met Office said in its Alert-III that the system is likely to move further west until tonight when it will turn back to the northeast and gradually weaken.

Around the center of the system, the surface winds are 45 km/h with gusts up to 55 km/h.

“At this time, none of Pakistan’s coastal areas are in danger from this weather system,” the Met Office alert said. It also said that the PMD Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre in Karachi is keeping a close eye on the system and that updates will be sent out as needed.

So, it said that the sea would be very rough for the next two days and that fishermen from Sindh and Balochistan shouldn’t go out on the open sea until tomorrow night.

There will be a lot of rain until August 14

The PMD said that heavy rains are likely today and tomorrow because the low air pressure in the Arabian Sea is getting stronger.

Under the current monsoon system, the Met Office said that the city may get heavy rain on August 13 and 14. It is said that monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal are getting into the country’s center and lower parts.

The forecast says that it will rain in the port city until August 14. The PMD also said that strong winds will hit the city.

Heavy rain hit the provincial capital early on Saturday, flooding the roads and submerging cars, making it hard for people to get where they needed to go.

No one has hurt right away in the latest storm, which started last night and caused trouble all over the city in just a few hours.

Due to the rain in the city, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has decided to postpone the exams that were supposed to take place today (August 13).

Late at night, it rained and thundered in most parts of Karachi, including KDA Chowrangi, Board Office, Numaish Chowrangi, Nagan Chowrangi, Shahra-e-Noor Jahan, Powerhouse, UP Morr, New Karachi, North Karachi, and Surjani Town.
