Karunaratne was out in the first session after Nauman Ali’s left-arm spin gave him two close calls that Pakistan tried to review but failed to do.

Karunaratne was finally caught by Nauman. Abdullah Shafique took a sharp reflex catch at short leg. Karunaratne had back spasms, so he didn’t play in Pakistan’s innings. During his two hours and 45 minutes at the crease, he went over 6,000 Test runs with the help of the physio.
