Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asked the Kenyan head of state to make sure that the investigation into how journalist Arshad Sharif was killed in a “mistaken identity” police shooting was fair, quick, and unbiased.
Sharif was killed in Kenya on Sunday night when police looking for a stolen car opened fire on the journalist’s car, thinking it was the stolen car. The car was also thought to have a child hostage in it when it drove through a roadblock without stopping, according to a report from Kenyan police.
“I just talked to Kenya’s President William Ruto on the phone about the sad death of Arshad Sharif. I asked him to make sure that the investigation into the shocking event was fair and clear. He promised to do everything he could to help, including speeding up the process of getting the body back to Pakistan,” the Prime Minister wrote in a tweet.
