PM Shehbaz thanks US president for flood response call

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): On Thursday, PM Shehbaz Sharif thanked Vice President Joe Biden for drawing attention to the critical situation in Pakistan following the devastating floods.

As his country faces the devastation of record floods, he took to Twitter to express gratitude to Vice President Joe Biden for calling attention to the tragedy of flood victims in Pakistan and demanding an immediate response from the international community.

PM Shehbaz emphasized the importance of the world community listening to the cries for help from stranded women and children.

In another tweet, he said he had spoken with high-ranking officials from the IMF and World Bank on the second day of the UN General Assembly about reallocating funds within the country’s existing programs to aid in flood recovery.

Aside from this discussion, “in my other meetings with international leaders, we covered floods, climate change, and rehabilitation of flood victims,” he stated.
