PTI activists arrested in terror case for doing violent protest

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): ECP kicked Imran Khan out of the PTI because he didn’t tell them about his gifts from Toshakhana and how much money he made from selling them.

Several members of the PTI’s local leadership were charged in a terror case for allegedly causing damage during the protests in Islamabad after Imran Khan was kicked out of the party.

In a big decision on Friday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) disqualified PTI Chairman Imran Khan because he didn’t share information about Toshakhana gifts and the money made from selling them when he was prime minister.

When the long-awaited ECP ruling emerged, Pakistan was thrown into chaos, and protests broke out in all of the country’s major cities.

To stop the “violent” protests, the government opened a terror case at the I-9 Police Station. Anti-Terrorism Act charges were filed against PTI leaders Amir Kayani, Qayyum Abbasi, Faisal Javed, Raja Rashid Hafiz, Umar Tanveer Butt, Rashid Naseem Abbasi, and Raja Majid (ATA).

The FIR said that PTI activists threw rocks at police, FC, and administration workers, hurting several. It said that the protesters tried to kill police officers by driving their cars into them, set fire to trees in Faizabad and the areas around it, and tried to damage government property.

Protests happened all over the country after Imran Khan was kicked out of the race.

After the ECP disqualified former Prime Minister Khan over the Toshakhana case, PTI supporters all over the country took to the streets to protest the ECP’s decision.

Police sources say that the district administrator blocked three major roads leading to Islamabad to stop anything bad from happening.

Because of the protests, the traffic police in Islamabad told people to use Peshawar Road or Lehtrar Road instead of Chongi No. 26 and Athal Chowk in Bhara Kahu.

When PTI activists tried to get into Islamabad through Faizabad, the police fired tear gas at them again.
