Fawad Chaudhry, a senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said that the PTI wants to have good relations with the army. He said that Imran Khan’s speech in Chakwal had a history.
He told a private news channel, “The PML-N leader Khurram Dastgir said that he was told that we [the PDM leaders] would all be in jail if Imran Khan brought an army chief of his choice.”

He kept saying that the ISPR should have told Khurram to shut up at that time. But Javed Latif and Maryam Nawaz, two other PML-N leaders, did what needed to be done in the end, he said.
Fawad Chaudhry said that Khurram Dastgir had made another statement, saying that PM Sharif would choose the next army chief. Dastgir said that when PM Shehbaz goes to London, he will talk to Nawaz about who should be in charge of the military.
Imran Khan said what he did in spite of the fact that Pakistan’s Secrets Act says the Prime Minister can’t do that.
The leader of the PTI asked how a convicted person, like Nawaz Sharif, could be asked about who should be the army chief.
