Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Naseer Khan Kashani has met with the Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology (SICT) about the exchange program to add courses to the Pakistan-China Technical and Vocational Institute.
The Technical and Vocational Institute in Gwadar was the first project to be finished in Gwadar. It was built to meet the need for trained workers in the Free Zone, Export Processing Zones (EPZ), Gwadar Industrial Estates Development Authority (GIEDA), and related fields like tourism, the hotel industry, and hospitality management.
During the meeting, it was said that Chinese trainers would soon be coming to Gwadar to help the Institute.
After it was finished, the Pakistan-China Technical and Vocational Institute Gwadar began short courses in March to train students for jobs.
The first modern vocational and technical training institute is in the port city of Gwadar. It can train up to 256 people at a time, and at least 1,000 people a year can get training there.
The Institute was done in September 2021, which was earlier than when it was supposed to be done.
China said it would train people at the institute. Under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the project was started in the port city. Its goal is to give the people of Balochistan a standard vocational education in the field of modern technology.
Students from the Gwadar district would be able to join the institution for free and learn modern job skills.
After finishing their classes, the students would be sent to China to visit different industries to learn about new technologies and industrial advances firsthand.
