Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Police in New Zealand are looking into the possible murder of two children whose bodies were found in suitcases that were bought last week at an online auction for an unclaimed locker.

Last week, in Auckland, the remains of a body were found by a family going through the things in a storage locker they had bought without seeing it first.

Police said in a statement on Thursday that the two kids were between 5 and 10 years old and had been dead for a while. They also said that the suitcases had been in storage for a while, but they didn’t say how long.

Detective Inspector Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua told reporters that the children hadn’t been officially identified yet, but that they thought they had family in New Zealand.

He also said that the kids’ families might not have known they were dead.

Police didn’t say how the children died or if they had any ideas about who did it.

The family who found the bodies had nothing to do with the people who died.
