Sukkur (LTN NEWS): On Wednesday, members of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) in Sindh arrested Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh in connection with a property transfer case that originated in Jamshoro.

The head of the PTI went to the office of the anti-corruption agency in Jamshoro in order to have his statement recorded in a case that involved obtaining a loan from a bank using forged property documents.

He made the recording in the workplace of the Deputy Director of ACE, Zeeshan Memon, who subsequently placed him under arrest. According to the spokesman for Sheikh Raja Azhar, this marks the second time this month that the ACE has arrested Sheikh in connection with the case. The official went on to say that Sheikh had already been released on bond in connection with a case involving sixty acres of land in Jamshoro. He stated that it appeared that this arrest was related to a new case.

One of the PTI leader’s associates was quoted as saying, “we went to join the probe but they arrested him in another case registered against him,” and this was corroborated by the PTI leader. He further mentioned that Haleem Adil was being detained at the moment at a local police station.

Sheikh’s spokesperson, Raja Azhar, stated to the media that the PTI leader had already been granted bail in a land issue that was pending in Jamshoro. On the other hand, he said that it appears to be a new case. According to his spokeswoman, Haleem promised to participate in the investigation; nevertheless, the ACE team arrested him in connection with another case.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has condemned the arrest of PTI member and opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh allegedly by the Pakistan People’s Party- (PPP) led provincial government.

The former premier took to his official Twitter handle to “Strongly condemn persecution & arrest of Sindh Opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh by Sindh govt. This is pure fascism, reflecting the Zardari-Sharif mafia’s approach of eliminating those they cannot purchase & it is absolutely unacceptable in any democracy.”
