Quetta (LTN NEWS): The number of people who died because of floods in Balochistan went up to 162 when rescue workers found 15 bodies in different parts of the province.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said that 15 bodies were found in Zhob, Lasbela, Jhal Magsi, and other parts of the province by rescue workers and locals.
The PDMA data showed that among the dead were 54 children, 43 women, and 67 men. Thousands of people who were stuck in Lasbela and Jhal Magsi were also saved by the PDMA, the Pakistan Army, and the Frontier Corps.
In both districts, all of the people who were stuck have been moved to safer places.
People in the Khainsoob area of district Qilla Saifullah who had been flooded were given food and clean water on Tuesday. “We made sure that flood victims got food,” said Naseer Ahmed Nasar, the head of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
After Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was upset that there was no food or water in the Khainsoob camp in the Killa Saifullah district, the PDMA sent food and other necessities to the camp.
He told Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo that the officials who were careless should be punished. After the premier told Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo to do so, he quickly fired the deputy commissioner, Killa Saifullah Hafiz Muhammad Qasim Kakar.
