Islamabad (LTN NEWS): Tuesday, after the ECP’s long-awaited ruling in the prohibited funding case, the National Assembly was full of angry attacks on the PTI. PML-N leaders called for legal action to give the former ruling party a taste of its own medicine, while they sang about the “injustice” done to them by the courts over “small things.”
Khawaja Muhammad Asif, who is in charge of defense, asked the executive to send the issue of PTI’s illegal funding to the judiciary for further action.
Even though the minister was happy with the decision, he pointed out that it took eight years for “justice to be done.” He said that there had never been such a long delay in such a controversial case in Pakistan’s political history.
In the same breath, he compared the “jarring” situation to what PML-N has been going through, lamenting that the party’s leader, Nawaz Sharif, was disqualified for life for not just taking a salary from his own son.
He also said that a person who the court had called “Sadiq” and “Ameen” has been found guilty today. Asif brought up a point of order in the National Assembly and said that the evidence mentioned in the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision about foreign funding of the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf should be looked at by the courts.
He said that the court should decide based on the facts to uphold the law and the constitution and to stop the culture of using bad language and doing things that are against the constitution. He said that the ECP did its job today by saying that the PTI had received illegal foreign funding. He said that Imran Khan was a paid agent of a foreign power “who hurt and slandered the state institutions.”
“It’s funny that institutions were fine with him as long as they backed him, but he starts insulting them if they stop backing him.”
Khawaja Asif used the ECP’s decision to say that it has now been proven that Imran Khan accepted money from other countries, such as the US, Canada, India, Israel, and the UK.
He said that this case was a good example of how money is laundered. He said that if Imran Khan stays safe, it will be a terrible thing for the country. The minister said that it was now up to the parliament and other institutions to uphold the constitution and social values of our country as they should.
He said that the PTI leader had a well-thought-out plan to destroy the economies and institutions.
He said that Imran Khan takes advantage of institutions that follow the law, calling them “Mir Jafar” and “Mir Sadiq.” He said that the PTI was the one who came up with the name of the current election commissioner.
He said that the Election Commission’s decision showed the whole country what Imran Khan is really like. If Imran Khan is brave enough, he should take the Financial Times to court. In the same way, Mian Javed Latif of the PML-N asked how someone who hurt Pakistan’s interests could be the country’s protector.
He asked how Imran Khan could have the nerve to talk about “real freedom” and said that from now on, Imran Khan is a “registered traitor” of Pakistan.
