Asif Ghafoor appoints as Corps Commander Quetta

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): The military’s media affairs wing said that Lt. Gen. Asif Ghafoor has been named Commander of XII Corps (Quetta). He will replace Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Ali, who died in a helicopter crash.

Lt. Gen. Ghafoor was once in charge of the ISPR.

In his new job, he is replacing Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali, who “embraced shahadat (martyrdom) in a helicopter crash due to bad weather during flood relief operations in Lasbela, Balochistan, on 1 August 2022 (Monday),” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement released late Wednesday night.
