Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s nomination papers for National Assembly constituency NA-108 Faisalabad were rejected by the returning officer, but his candidacy was approved for eight other constituencies.

The Faisalabad returning officer has approved the nomination papers of 12 candidates, including Farrukh Habib of the PTI, Chaudhry Sher Ali and Abid Sher Ali of the PML-N, and Abid Sher Ali of the PML-N.

During the review of nomination papers, Imran was called in because his signatures were different and his answers about his assets were not good enough, but the former prime minister did not show up in front of the returning officer.

Habib said that the chief of the party’s nomination papers was turned down for no reason by the person in charge of the election. He also said that the things that were said against his candidacy were sent to everyone through WhatsApp.

He made a point of saying that the same papers had been sent in from eight other constituencies.

“Even in the future, we won’t trust this returning officer,” he said. “A PML-N candidate’s papers were approved even though he had not paid WASA (Water and Sanitation Authority) for five years.”

The former ruling party has decided to appeal the decision of the election official and has already started getting ready.

At the same time, members of the PTI held a protest in front of the office of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Aside from this, the nomination papers of all candidates, including Imran, for four seats in the lower house in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) have been found to be valid, while those of Ilyas Ahmad Bilour for NA-31 Peshawar have been thrown out.

Six candidates in NA-22 Mardan and nine candidates in NA-24 Charsadda turned in their papers, and all of them were found to be valid. Because of technical problems, the papers of 10 candidates in NA-31 Peshawar and 17 candidates in NA-45 Kurram have been thrown out.

Three women had also sent in their papers to run for the open seat in K-P that was set aside for women. Their papers have been ruled to be legitimate.

In the meantime, the nomination papers for Karachi’s three seats in the lower house have been looked over, and the election symbols will be given out on August 29. The papers of 15 people, including Imran, have been accepted for NA-237, but those of Zainul Abideen Ansari of the PML-N has been turned down.

All of the nomination papers that were sent in for NA-239 were approved, and 20 people were approved for NA-246. The head of the PTI is also running for office in these three seats.

Also, a private news TV channel says that Imran’s papers from NA-118 Nankana Sahab have been approved, even though the PML-N candidate objected. The papers of 10 candidates, including Imran’s, were found to be valid by the person in charge of voting.

The decision of the people in charge of counting votes can be appealed until August 20, which is the last day to do so.

It’s important to remember that only 11 resignations were accepted by NA Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf after the PTI quit all at once and the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) took over.

After that, the electoral body said that these seats were empty and said that by-elections would be held on August 28.

Most people don’t pay much attention to by-elections, but when the former prime minister said he would run for all nine seats alone, the public became interested. People had different thoughts about the decision, especially since the PTI is still trying to get early elections.
