Web Desk (LTN NEWS): After record rainfall flooded parts of Pakistan, the Pakistan Army is still helping people in need all over the country.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday that rescue work was done in Hyderabad, Sanghar, Badin, Thatta, Jamshoro, Noshero Feroz, and other districts in Sindh.

Two army helicopters were sent from Karachi to the affected areas in the interior of Sindh to speed up rescue and relief efforts.

The military’s media branch also said that people in the affected areas were given rations and medical help.

The army kept helping the government of Punjab, and helicopters brought aid to flood victims in remote and hard-to-reach parts of the Dera Ghazi Khan district. Four trips were made to the most affected areas, including Mubarki, Fazla Katch, and Basti Buzdar.

In their statement, the military also said that tents and food were sent to the flood victims.

In Balochistan, the army and Frontier Corps troops helped the provincial government in Quetta, Pishin, Qila Saif Ullah, Ziarat, Zhob, Loralai, and Noshki.

The ISPR said that relief camps had been set up in the areas of Naseerabad, Duki, and Lasbela. It also said that army and FC medical camps had been set up in areas that were flooded.

The ISPR said that Frontier Corps troops also helped the local government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and did relief work in Chitral and other flood-affected areas.

PM, COAS discuss relief

Earlier, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif talked with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lt Gen Akhtar Nawaz about the floods and the rescue, relief, and recovery efforts in the affected areas.

During the phone call, the prime minister and the army chief talked about the situation of flood victims and the relief and recovery efforts in flood-affected areas, especially in Sindh.

In a statement, the PM Office said that PM Shehbaz also stressed the need to speed up rescue, aid, and recovery efforts.

Gen Bajwa told the prime minister that the army would do everything it could to help with the rescue and relief efforts in Sindh.

Because roads and bridges in the province were damaged, the prime minister asked for helicopters to be sent there. He said that helicopters would help with rescue and relief efforts because the roads between the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan had been damaged.

He also liked how the Pakistan Army worked together and cared about the rescue and relief efforts.

The army chief also said that he had given the Commander of the Southern Command special instructions about the aid work in Balochistan.
