PM visits Qatar to discuss investment prospects

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrives in Qatar on Tuesday for a two-day official visit. During this time, he will have “in-depth consultations” with the government and meet with business leaders to talk about Pakistan’s investment potential.

When the prime minister arrived at the Doha airport, the Qatari Minister of Transport, Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti, greeted him with a warm welcome.

On the invitation of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, this is the first time the prime minister has been to Qatar since he took office in April 2022.

The people in the federal cabinet are with the prime minister.

The Foreign Office says that the prime minister will have “deep discussions” with the Qatari government.

The two countries will look at all aspects of their relationship, but they will pay special attention to improving energy cooperation, strengthening trade and investment ties, and finding more jobs for Pakistanis in Qatar.

He said that Pakistan wanted to change the long-standing relationship between the two countries into a “stronger strategic relationship.”

He said that when he met with market and business leaders, he would talk about the “exciting investment opportunities” in Pakistan’s different sectors, such as renewable energy, food security, industrial and infrastructure development, tourism and hospitality.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the head of the Qatar Investment Authority, Mansoor Mehmood, to talk about investment opportunities in Pakistan. They talked about energy, food security, and aviation, among other things.

Investment in other areas, like tourism and oil products, was also talked about.

Federal ministers Syed Naveed Qamar, Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Ayaz Sadiq, as well as State Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, all went to the meeting.
