Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Local officials have told the people of Charsada to take precautions because the city could be hit by flash floods in the next few hours. Flash floods have made it likely that the KP districts of Charsadda and Nowshera will flood.
The flood water pushed on the Munda Headworks Bridge until it broke. Because the bridge fell, Tehsil Shabqadar and Prang are now cut off from the district.
The thing happened around 11 o’clock at night near the Charsadda district. After the bridge fell, there is a very high chance that Charsadda, Nowshehra, and the areas around them will flood.
Authorities have told people to leave and save their lives by going to camps set up by the government.
So far, no deaths have been reported, but houses and farmland have been destroyed by the water flow.
The people are being moved to places that are safer. People did not pay attention to the warnings from the deputy commissioner and the authorities that there would be flooding and that they should leave their homes and go somewhere safe.
Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Mir Reza Ozgen said on Saturday that floodwater has destroyed half of the Munda Headworks and washed away two sections of the Discharge Control. The deputy commissioner warned that the flood water is moving quickly toward Nowshera.
In 2010, the Munda Headworks were still safe, said the deputy commissioner.
The DC also told the people who lived there to leave right away and go somewhere safe.
There is a very high flood at Khyali in Charsadda, and the water level is still rising. The city government is trying to help the people who are stuck.
Most of the people who were flooded have moved to the highway to stay safe. They are sleeping outside for the night.
Reports say that the local government has already sent out a flood warning, but no deaths have been reported so far.
The DC said that the district administration needs help from the public at this important time. He said that the government is getting complaints from many places about how people aren’t helping with the evacuation process.
He told the people that they shouldn’t take the flood situation lightly. He asked people again to work together and said that the situation is getting worse than it was in 2010.
The DC Nowshera said that all public and private schools have opened their doors to flood victims. He said that people are being helped in every way possible.
