Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) said in a statement on Monday that it will give flood victims in all of Pakistan’s provinces a package of aid worth Rs1.75 billion.

The package from PTCL includes donations to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund, NGOs, and free calls in flood-affected areas, housing loans for people who had to leave their homes, and better medical facilities for flood victims.

Hatem Bamatraf, President and Group CEO of PTCL and Ufone, said, “This is a hard time for millions of people in Pakistan. One of the worst natural disasters in modern history has taken away their lives, homes, and ways to make money.”

When he talked about the disasters, he stressed how important it was for people and local groups to work together to help.

“During this crisis, PTCL Group stands with the people who are hurt and is committed to helping people, their families, and communities all over the country,” Bamatraf said.

The country’s largest telecom services provider will also offer medical services through its health centers. Its 13 doctors and 27 non-medical staff will treat people in the country’s eight districts.

The mobile phone company Ufone, which is part of PTCL, has also said that people affected by the disaster will be able to make free calls to stay in touch with family, friends, the government, and aid groups.

“The U Microfinance Bank has promised to help flood victims rebuild their homes by giving them low-cost home loans,” the statement said.

The telecom company will also give money to some of the most important aid organizations working in Balochistan and Sindh to help victims right away.

In its statement, PTCL also said that its employees and staff will give donations on their own, which the organization will match.

“The whole amount will be given to a well-known charity,” said PTCL.

Millions of people have been affected by the recent monsoon floods in Pakistan. Lives have been lost, homes have been destroyed, and families have lost their main sources of income.
