Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi asked Chairman of the PTI Imran Khan to stop making his personal interests into a circus. He said that the PTI leader’s whole strategy in politics is based on who will be the next army chief.
In response to Imran Khan’s idea to delay the appointment of the next Army Chief, the leader of the PML-N said in a statement that Imran Khan should stop making the issue about himself.
Abbasi asked Imran Khan if he read Pakistan’s constitution. He said that it is up to the Prime Minister to choose the Army Chief.
Abbasi said that Imran Khan used the same power in August 2019, four months before the Army Chief was chosen.
In an interview with a private news channel on Monday, Imran Khan said that the new army chief should not be chosen until a new government has been formed. Imran Khan says that the leader of the Pakistan Army should be chosen by the next government.
“Is Imran Khan saying that no lieutenant general is qualified to lead the Pakistani army with his statement?” asked Abbasi.
