Web Desk (LTN NEWS): PM Shehbaz Sharif met King Charles III at a party he held in London for foreign dignitaries who were there for the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
In his condolences over the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, PM Shehbaz said that the late monarch was a source of inspiration and strength for generations of Commonwealth citizens.
PM Shehbaz said that the two trips the late queen made to Pakistan were very special to the people there. “The love between the Royal family and the people of Pakistan had grown stronger over time,” he said.
On behalf of the people of Pakistan and the government, PM Shehbaz sent best wishes to King Charles III on his ascension to the throne and hoped that he would continue his mother’s work to strengthen friendships between Commonwealth nations.

He said that the people of Pakistan were very proud of their king and were looking forward to having him visit as soon as possible.
PM Shehbaz also thanked the British monarch for the support and sympathy shown by the Royal family in the wake of the floods.
“Both the British government and the British people, as well as the people of Pakistan, were very grateful for the help they gave in response to the call for help,” he said.
The Last Post, a short bugle call, will be played just before noon, and that will be the end of the ceremony. The country will then be quiet for two minutes.
After the funeral, PM Shehbaz will go to the U.S. that same day. PM Shehbaz will speak at the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), which will be held in New York from September 20 to 26.
