Web Desk(LTN News): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif came Kazakhstan to take part in the 6th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), which will be held on October 12–13 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Yerulan Zhamaubayev, Kazakhstan’s vice president and minister of finance, welcomed PM Sharif at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport.
Senior officials and members of the government accompanied the prime minister.
PM Sharif will meet President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan during his visit to Astana, and he will also go to the banquet organised by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan in honour of the heads of the CICA member states.
On October 13, the prime minister will give a speech to the CICA plenary conference in which he will go into greater detail about the importance of CICA as a special forum for encouraging communication, comprehension, and cooperation among nations in Asia to address shared concerns.
He would also emphasise Pakistan’s viewpoint on local and international concerns.
In order to promote deeper collaboration, notably in the areas of trade and investment, the prime minister will undertake bilateral discussions with the leaders of different CICA member States on the sidelines of the summit.
In a tweet sent this morning before leaving Nur Khan Airbase, PM Sharif emphasised the importance of fostering dialogue and understanding in order to create alliances where all parties in Asia benefit.
Through improved connection, he asserted, “I think CICA is capable of forming a new configuration of economic cooperation and security in Asia.”
According to a previous statement from the Foreign Office, “The Prime Minister’s participation in the CICA Summit attests to the priority accorded by Pakistan to enhancing connectivity and economic cooperation in Asia, in keeping with the objectives enshrined in the CICA Charter.”
An intergovernmental procedure known as CICA includes 27 nations from all throughout Asia.
It was founded in 1992 with the goal of advancing socioeconomic advancement and peace across the Asian continent. One of its original members is Pakistan.
Through debate and mutually beneficial cooperation, CICA provides an indispensable platform for furthering the goals of regional peace and prosperity.
It encourages confidence-inspiring initiatives across five major categories: the human dimension, new challenges and threats, economic dimension, environmental component, and military-political cooperation.
