Sonya Hussyn sends Urwa Hocane a legal notice for breaching the contract

Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Sonya Hussyn sent Urwa Hocane, the producer of Tich Button, a legal notice because Urwa Hocane “breached the contract” by not paying her as the lead actor of Tich Button.

In a legal notice dated October 22 shared with Images, the Saraab actor’s legal team addressed the situation by reminding Urwa that she entered into contractual relations with their client.

In straightforward terms and conditions, she agreed to pay Sonya a certain amount when filming was done. Filming began on February 2, 2020, and ended on June 5, 2020. The notice says that Sonya did her part of the contract in exceptional circumstances, like when Covid-19 broke out, but she was not paid despite repeated requests and reminders, which is a breach of contract.

It said that after a long time, the Meri Shehzadi actor tried to pay Hussyn Rs500,000 “fraudulently,” which was against the rules and a clear breach of contract. According to the notice, the actor from Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida sent back that check and “absolutely refuses” to fall for Urwa’s scam. Sonya wants the promised money and is “still outstanding.”

She also wants Rs5 million in general damages for distress, dismay, mental torture, humiliation, and embarrassment within 14 days of receiving the notice for the unwanted and undesirable circumstances that Urwa caused.

If Urwa does not do this, Sonya has told her lawyers to institute civil and criminal legal provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, for criminal breach of trust, cheating, fraud, and misrepresentation, file a civil suit in court, and ask for payment, general damages, and attachment of Urwa’s immovable and moveable assets.

The movie Tich Button, which stars Feroze Khan, Hussyn, Farhan Saeed, Sohail Ahmed, Marina Khan, and Iman Ali, will finally come out in theatres all over the country on November 11. The movie has been delayed for years. A representative for Sonya told Images that she has not been at any of the events to promote the movie, like the recent launch of the trailer.
