Web Desk (LTN NEWS): People in Pakistan and on both sides of the Line of Control are holding a Black Day on Thursday to show support for Kashmiris in Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).
In his message for the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warned the rest of the world not to ignore the fact that Indian forces in IIOJK are breaking people’s rights.
He said that on this Day, a testament to the legendary courage and resilience of the Kashmiris, the Pakistanis honor the Kashmiris and their sacrifices.
PM Shehbaz Sharif also said that the Indian government could not stop the Kashmiris from trying to get their freedom.
“Today, the people of Pakistan pay Kashmiris much respect and promise to stand with them in their just fight. The world should not ignore India breaking people’s rights in IIOJK, a heavily armed valley. “The desire for freedom cannot be kept down for long,” the leader wrote.
October 27 is Black Day because India took over Jammu and Kashmir illegally, immorally, and by force in 1947. This Day shows how brave and strong Kashmiris have stood up to the Indian forces that have occupied their country for the past 75 years.
In his message, President Dr. Arif Alvi repeated Pakistan’s call for an immediate end to the illegal and unilateral actions taken by the Indian government on August 5, 2019.
Dr. Arif Alvi asked the rest of the world to do something about India’s terrible violations of human rights in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that India should be held accountable for its actions.
In the meantime, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari praised the Kashmiris for their sacrifices in their fight for the right to self-determination. He also said that the country would continue to support the Kashmiris in their fight.
He said that October 27 is the worst Day in the history of India, which 75 years ago became the worst dictatorship and colonial country in the world.
On this Day, 70 years ago, Indian forces moved into Jammu and Kashmir, which was not part of the plan for the country to be split up.
Most of the state’s people were Muslims, and the state’s borders were close to what would become Pakistan. This meant that the state was likely to become a part of Pakistan. However, the state’s Maharaja did not make any plans to find out what the people wanted for their political future. Local Kashmiris and tribal people knew what he planned to do and fought back.
The Maharaja went to India to ask for help. It is not clear if the Maharaja signed any document of accession. There are reasons to think that Indian forces landed in Srinagar before the Maharaja could sign the instrument of accession. Kashmiris worldwide and in Pakistan protested this illegal occupation of the state on October 27, which they call Black Day.
Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and all over the world are taking part in Black Day to show the world that they do not agree with India’s illegal occupation of the valley.
People in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir will shut down everything and put a civil curfew in place for the Day.
Marches, rallies, and seminars will be held in Pakistan and other countries to protest the Indian Army’s invasion of the territory on October 27, 1947, and the Modi-led government’s decision to take away occupied Kashmir’s special status on August 5, 2019.
