Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Friday, Wang Wenbin, a spokesman for China’s Foreign Ministry, called on India to improve relations and reach a consensus between the two countries leaders so that things can go in a stable and healthy direction.

When asked what he thought about what Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar had said about how India and China get along, he said during his regular briefing that both countries have the knowledge and skills to understand each other better.

Chinese leaders once said, “There won’t be an Asian century without the development of China and India, and the real Asian-Pacific century or Asian century won’t come until China, India, and other nearby countries develop.”

He said that China and India were two old civilizations. He also said that the two emerging economies and two big neighbors had a lot more in common than they did differently.

In response to a question about talks about the remaining points of tension at the China-India border that need to be resolved for the disengagement to be complete, he said that China and India have kept good communication about border issues and that the dialogue is working.

In response to Jaishankar’s comments about Quad, he said China’s position on Quad was clear and consistent.

“I want to emphasize that in a world of peace, cooperation, and openness, it won’t help to form small groups, because that goes against the current trend,” he said.
