Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not given up on bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja said, lamenting what he called an unwarranted controversy.
Earlier, former all-rounder, Shahid Khan Afridi said that Shaheen paid for all of the costs of his knee injury treatment in London.
In response to a cricket fan on social media, Ramiz Raja said, “How can anyone think that Shaheen Shah Afridi’s parent body [the PCB] might leave him alone?” The fan said that the board should have given Afridi everything he needed to play at a world-class level.
“This can’t happen. It is hard to understand why the PCB would leave him to deal with this on his own. It’s too bad that the unnecessary controversy has been stirred up by this.”
Ramiz Raja said that PCB took care of Mohammad Rizwan when he was sick during the world cup. “Our team of doctors took care of him all night, helped him get better, and made it so he could play in the final.”
Ramiz Raja also gave the example of batsman Fakhar Zaman, who is going to get better in another country and the PCB is paying for it.
PCB chairman said that the Shaheen scandal might have been caused by a lack of clarity. He said that Shaheen Afridi had to leave Dubai quickly because he had trouble getting tickets.
