Web Desk (LTN NEWS): Asif Ali Zardari, a former president, said Tuesday that Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, is “mad for power” and that the judiciary must find out “if this person is above the law.”

During a meeting with Sindh ministers, Zardari told them, “All provinces are looking to us in this emergency situation, but there is a man whose desire for power is driving him crazy day by day.” This is what the PPP said Zardari said.

Zardari called out the PTI leader for allegedly threatening the army, the police, and a female magistrate. He didn’t name the PTI leader, but he did say, “This man dares the authorities to arrest him.”

The co-chair of the PPP said, “This man criticizes our army every day, while the same army is fighting terrorists and giving their lives for the country.”

The ex-comments presidents follow recent comments made by the ex-prime minister about “neutrals,” which is what he calls the military establishment, and about a female additional sessions judge who let his chief of staff, Shahbaz Gill, go back into the custody of the Islamabad police.

In response to the ex-controversial PM’s comments, Zardari asked the government to establish its authority and warned that “otherwise, institutions will continue to be attacked by him.”

Earlier, he said that all provinces were in a state of emergency and asked all parties to stop playing politics and help the people who have been hurt by the floods.

At a rally in Islamabad’s F-9 park on Saturday, Imran said, “We won’t spare you” and said he would file charges against the inspector general of police and the deputy inspector general of police. He then told the judges that if they were “prejudiced” against his party, they should get ready for the consequences.

The next day, Imran was charged with terrorism for “threatening [ing]” a female judge and senior police officer. The interior minister said that the PTI leader would not be allowed to challenge the authority of the state by stirring up rebellion.
